3¼d (Thruppence farthing)

£25.00

A lovely vintage miniature trick which has several ways to present it. With this one, I tell the story of my childhood and show an old threepenny (pron. thruppenny) bit in a specially made wooden box. It was my weekly pocket money when I was seven. (Actually I only got twopence, but the story works better that way.) I talk about how much that would be worth today. (Google it) and how when I went into the shop if I spent 2¾d, (Tuppence three farthings) how much change would I have? The threepence turns magically into a farthing. You could still buy a Blackjack or Fruit Salad for that. We talk about who was King then and the fact that the coin was made in the year I was born. We talk about the wren on the coin and how they are the smallest UK bird and that they are now endangered. The thruppence magically reappears (could be donated).
